I love to cook. Not the type of cooking because it’s dinner time (again) kind of cooking; but cooking to share a meal or treat my loved ones kind of cooking. For me it’s very meditative. It allows my brain to switch off from all the things zooming around in there.

Over the years, I have understood the role that each ingredient plays in the final product. Not all are there to add flavour. Some ingredients are there without the eager consumer knowing – but just because you can’t taste them, doesn’t mean they do not play an integral part in the food. Take eggs for example – you can’t taste an egg in a muffin, but they are integral in holding all the other ingredients together. Without the eggs, your muffins will fall apart, like a big old crumbly (tasty) mess.

Relate this to a wedding, and an On The Day Wedding Coordinator is the egg in the muffin. They generally aren’t the ones who are bringing in all the tangible, amazingness – this is the role of the florist, the caterer, cake designer, DJ / musician, celebrant, photographer and the venue itself. But it is the On The Day Coordinator who acts as the binding agent to keep all the parts together to assist in bringing a wedding day to life.

Can a day happen without a Coordinator? Of course it can, especially when the couple engages experienced, reliable and professional suppliers who understand that their contribution to the day is bigger than just their own work.

The role of the On The Day Coordinator starts well before the day, pulling all the couple’s plans and ideas together and morphing that with the research / T&Cs / requirements of everyone and everything involved. They are the person who has a complete bird’s eye view of every detail of the day to ensure the puzzle pieces all fit perfectly, the wheels turn in harmony, the muffins are tasty and rise beautifully!

So when you are marketing to couples to promote your services, THIS is the reason you explain to them why they need you. Because with cost of living skyrocketing, and many couples are trying to figure out how to have a wedding that works with their budget, if they don’t understand the vital role an On The Day Coordinator has, they will cut you from their budget.
